Talvo's conversation screen: the tutor replies in French at a café and waits for you to answer out loud
¡Hola! Bonjour こんにちは 안녕하세요 أهلاً 你好 Ciao Olá

Live interpreter

For the conversation you're in before you're ready.

Hold the phone between you and someone who speaks the language. Talvo tells you what they said, how it sounds and three ways to answer, then says your reply out loud. Here's a real exchange at a market in Cairo:

You typeHow much is this?bikam da?
The seller saysده بخمسين جنيهda b-khamsin ginehThis is fifty pounds.
You tap a reply · Talvo says itCan it be a bit less?mumkin a'll shwayya?

How it works

Built for the moment you have to open your mouth.

Most apps stop at tapping the right word. Talvo writes your lessons, makes you speak, and catches what you got wrong.

Lessons

Written around your life

Tell Talvo you're into chess, football or your job. Every unit, from beginner to upper-intermediate, is written around it, at your level.

Questions

What people ask first.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up and no login. Your progress lives on your device, and a random per-install ID is the only thing Talvo's server uses, for free-plan limits.

Does one subscription cover iPhone and Mac?

Yes. Subscribe on either and it works on the other with the same Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases if it doesn't show up straight away.

Is it good for complete beginners?

Yes. The placement test puts you on the right lesson, and the first units cover sounds, greetings and the phrases you'll use in your first week. If you already know some, it starts you further along.

Which Arabic does it teach?

Both. Egyptian Arabic, which is what people speak in Cairo and hear in films and music, and Modern Standard Arabic for reading and formal settings. Pick either as a course.

What leaves my phone?

The text you type and short voice clips go to Talvo's server and on to the AI provider to write lessons, grade answers and transcribe speech. Nothing is used for advertising or sold. Read the privacy policy.
